The depth of discharge of a battery depends on the amount of a battery’s capacity that has been used. In a higher DoD, we can able to utilize more of the battery’s capacity. The battery’s ability to hold a charge will gradually decrease when more use it. In solar battery will have a warranty that guarantees a certain number of cycles because battery performance naturally degrades over time. So that most manufacturers will also guarantee that the battery keeps a certain amount of its capacity over the course of the warranty period.
